Cihampelas Street

Now i will to tell you a about history of Cihampelas Street. Cihampelas consist of two words, there are “Ci” and “Hampelas”. “Ci” means water in Sundanese, and “Hampelas” is kind of tree which rugged leaf, like sandpaper that used to rub the iron and wood. Why did Cihampelas consist it’s words? It because the named had taken by swimming pool in this area in 1902, this is Cihampelas swimming pool. When this swimming pool was built, there are many “Hampelas” tree. The source water of that swimming pool is from around the hampelas trees. Cihampelas Street is one icon in Bandung. Why? Because in this Cihampelas Street was center of the jeans production in the past.

In the past, it was a cheap and therefore popular place to produced some new jeans. Although the prices have been increasing, Cihampelas is still worth a visit. So, this place better known as “Jeansstreet”. Cihampelas Street is similar with Malioboro in Yogyakarta. But, do you know why Cihampelas Street is totally different from other streets in Bandung? Because in this street where you can see many super heroes huge statues which are amazingly standing on the top of the buildings such as Superman, Spiderman, ultraman, and many more. How about the price in Cihampelas factory outlet? Dont worry, the prices of Cihampelas factory outlet is very cheap and have a good quality.

Besides a factory outlet, Cihampelas have a ‘new concept mall’ called Ciwalk. Ciwalk have a great and huge building, and also wide area. There are some factory outlet, hotel, foodcourt, and mall it self. Ciwalk is a different area, beautiful and clean it was conditioned visitor to be a more comfortable shopping. If you walk in Ciwalk at noon, afternoon, and night will feel different atmosfer. Because in this area there are so many dyanmic light, music, and you will know if you come to Ciwalk. If you come to Cihampelas Factory outlet, the first thing to do you must bargain to shopkeeper, and dont forget to recheck your stuff before you pay it. And becareful with your stuff, because in Cihampelas Street is crowded. That is the little history about the Cihampelas Street.
